IT was a couple of runaway scores that stole the show in the men’s monthly stableford at Colne Valley Golf Club.
Philip Reeve and Colin Wheatland had to be separated by countback to decide third and fourth place after both scored 34 points, with Reeve just edging it.
However, they couldn't match the scores of 41 points returned by Alister Bailey and Roger Cook.
In the end, it was Bailey who inched to the win as Cook had to settle for second spot.
Colne Valley's ladies held their third nine-hole winter league competition, with Amanda Rollings pipping Lesley Knight with 23 points in division one.
Division two saw Claire Wheeler winning with 24 points, followed by Sue Gault with 19 in second.
Both of these ladies had recently joined Colne Valley after working with professional Scott as part of his ‘Get into Golf’ programme.
