HALSTEAD and District Motor Cycle Club's motocross riders have been reflecting on a successful year.

Jason Morland finished second overall in the Eastern Championship, proving he can still mix it with the young guns on a two-stroke.

Another Halstead rider, Brad Tomlin, fought tooth and nail with the eventual deserved 2016 champion Luke Parker and while he suffered an injury that meant his title hopes diminished, he still finished third overall.

In the Junior Intermediate Championship, Halstead rider Ashley Campbell finished a creditable seventh overall.

Morland also competed in the Eastern Enduro Solo Championship where he was the series' overall winner in a closely-fought battle with Sudbury stalwart Jamie Roper which went to the last meeting.

The Two-Man Enduro Championship saw Halstead pair Brendan Mayers and Joe Marsh finish sixth overall.

Moving on to 2017, the club presently have three meetings planned, starting with round one of the Eastern Championship at Little Loveney Hall in Wakes Colne on April 16.

The Richard Fitch Memorial Trophy meeting has been put back to July and in September Halstead are set to welcome the top British sidecar riders to Little Loveney Hall.
