A SCINTILLATING display by Julian Pegg and Matt Sanders saw them finish clear winners of the fifth round of the Winter League at Braintree Golf Club.
In the Texas Scramble with an allowance of one fifth of their combined handicaps of ten, the pair secured 12 birdies and signed for a gross 58 and a nett score of 56.
They finished almost three shots clear of runners-up Terry Fisher and Mick Sutton on 58.8 while Lee Collis and Andrew Fowler were third with a nett 61.2.
The ladies’ midweek Chicken Run, over nine holes, was won by Jennifer Humphries with 19 points off a handicap of 22.
She finished a point ahead of three rivals and after a countback Janet White (17) with Debra Blundell (26) third and Pauline Sundler (24) in fourth place.
