THE Gosfield Lake Golf Club Junior Open once again attracted some of the best young golfers in Essex.

The winner on the day was Nathan Parrish, representing Chelmsford Golf Club and who completed the course in 74 strokes.

Parrish is no stranger to the course as his father Tony is a member of the club and Nathan is an away member of the juniors at Gosfield.

In second place was Gosfield junior Max Maynard, who was only one stroke behind with 75.

Both he and Parrish are part of the Essex Coaching Squad.

The winner for the best nett score was Lewis Wright from the Abridge Golf Club, with a nett 69 off his nine handicap.

The other 18-hole prize winners were Joshua Coleman from Chelmsford in the 15 to 18 years group with a gross 79 and the 14 and under winner was James Styles from Chigwell with a gross 81.

Nearest the pin on the eighth hole was Jesper Lawrence from Stock Brook Manor and on the 17th, it was William Dove of Garon Park.

Other members from the Youth team at Gosfield who played well were Joe Richards and Shaw Radley with nett 73s.

Also playing from Gosfield were Piers Halley, Alasdair Groves, Felicity Halley and Lauren Stanton.
