THE seniors' Autumn Meeting at Gosfield Lake Golf Club attracted 104 competitors from Essex, Suffolk and Hertfordshire.

In first place, with 52 points was Alan Cook and Colin Nicholson from Benton Hall, who helped their score with an eagle at the first par five hole for five points.

It proved decisive as the difference was only three points to the next team, second-placed team John Winderand John Newman from Warley Park, who edged Benton Hall's Ray Sheperd and Terry Graham into third on countback.

The best front nine was won by Mike Darby and John Shoob from Benton Hall with 25 points and the winners of the best back nine was Gary Goodchild (The Essex) and Eric Howlett (Five Lakes) also with 25 points.

Nearest the pin on the eighth hole was won by John Waterson (Colchester) and the winner of nearest the pin on the 17th was Edward Stallard (Ballards Gore).
