THERE were some outstanding team scores at Gosfield Lake Golf Club's Captain's Charity event.

Captain Jeremy Paterson had chosen the Walking with the Wounded - that helps wounded army veterans reintegrate back into society - as his charity and the he day raised £1,560 for the good cause.

In fourth place, with 128 points and beaten on countback, was the Vice-Captain's Team led by Ernie Cable assisted by Malachy Shields, Mike Stanley and Bob Bailey.

Third place went to the Peaky Blinders the team of Richard Race, John Rooney, Geoff Powdrill and Andy Millman.

In second place and only one point ahead on 129 was the Four-Play To-day quartet of James and Carole Robinson and Roger and Margaret Byford.

However, taking an outright win with 132 point total were Mrs Brown’s Boys, led by Robert Brown, with son Louis Brown, Chris Richards and John Taylor.

The individual hole prizes for nearest the pin on the par threes were presented to Scott Howarth on the second, John Barrick Snr on the fifth, Richard Race on the eighth, Paul Dawson on the 15th and Chris Richards on the 17th.
