NEW member Gavin Payne completed a superb victory in the Taylor Bowl at Braintree Golf Club.
Payne, who has only been a member of the club for only a few months and was playing off a handicap of 23, returned a nett 62 to win the competition by five strokes.
Jon Goodwin (13) finished runner-up with a nett 67, while there was a countback on 68 for third place that saw Martin Hawes (1) edge out Graeme Brown (17).
