COURTAULD Halstead Bowls Club were honoured and delighted to be chosen as the venue for a match between Essex County Bowls Association and Leicestershire.
The game was played in a very friendly but highly competitive manner.
Despite a heavy loss for the home side on one rink, they battled on and the match finished with Leicestershire winning on four rinks and Essex winning on two with the visitors claiming victoryby just 11 shots.
Following the match, all players and their guests enjoyed a meal provided by the entertainments committee of Halstead Bowls Club.
Both the Essex and Leicestershire presidents congratulated Courtaulds Halstead for the excellent way both teams had been looked after and for the hospitality which had been extended to all present.
