HALSTEAD Cricket Club's players remembered on of their best-loved members with a special game held in memory of former president Peter Rawlinson at Star Stile.

The popular cricket club stalwart died at the age of 78 in December 2014 after losing a short battle with cancer and the club's current players came out in force to honour his memory with action on the pitch.

The match was between teams captained by David Rawlinson and Phil Toogood and fittingly ended in a draw.

David Rawlinson's team made 208 for five, with first-team skipper Josh Wells leading the way with a 24-ball half-century, while Toogood's team made 197 for six from 32 overs, with John Clinch top scoring with a well-paced 62 and March Johnson finding the boundary eight times in striking an unbeaten 50.
