FC CLACTON, Wivenhoe Town and Halstead Town will play on the opening day of the new Thurlow Nunn League season.

The league will have a staggered start this year, following the earlier-than-usual date for the FA Cup extra preliminary round on August 6.

Some clubs want to play before their cup tie, while others have opted not to feature in the first week.

This means that the first-week fixtures are somewhat truncated.

However, in the premier division, both Clacton and Wivenhoe chose to have games on the first day of the campaign - Saturday, July 30.

The Seasiders will entertain Thetford Town while Wivenhoe make the long trip to Godmanchester Rovers.

Halstead open their first division account with a home match against Needham Market Reserves.

Stanway Rovers kick-off their premier division campaign with a trip to Haverhill Rovers on Tuesday, August 2 while on the same night Halstead host AFC Sudbury Reserves.

On Wednesday, August 3, Wivenhoe are at home to Brantham Athletic.

The FA Cup and FA Vase draws are expected on July 8, which should enable a full season premier division fixture list to be released on July 15.

With so many ground shares in the first division, it will not be possible to produce a full fixture list for that division until after the Ryman and Southern League fixtures are released on July 15.

Meanwhile, the league have confirmed details of several Friday fixtures.

Wivenhoe host Long Melford on August 12, while August 26 is derby day as Clacton entertain Stanway.

Brantham visit Ipswich Wanderers on September 30 and then visit Clacton's Rush Green Bowl on November 4.

On March 17 Stanway take on Felixstowe & Walton United at The Hawthorns and on March 24 Wivenhoe head to Haverhill Rovers.
