THE Essex Golf and Country Club enjoyed a convincing win at Upminster to book their place in the quarter-finals of the Essex Golf Union’s Leslie Wood competition.
After the morning foursome matches, the Essex's team, which is sponsored by K Mosby Financial Associates Ltd, held a 4-1 lead and they extended that in the afternoon singles to romp away to a 9½-5½ victory.
In the quarter-finals, which will be held at the neutral venue of Forrester Park on July 3, the Essex have been drawn against Chigwell.
