TONY Beadle's hole-in-one helped as he and Simon Clamp won the seniors greensomes competition at Colne Valley Golf Club.

They triumphed with 41 points, with second place going to Paul Therrien and Alan Beattie with 39 points and third to Geoff Earnshaw and Keith Nice with 38.

The ladies' annual Australian Spoons competition brought victory to Corrine Burnford and Lesley Knight with 41 points.

Megan Ball and Jan Edwards were second with 40 points with Karen Charles and Lyn White third with 31.

The ladies' EJD foursomes brought more success for Knight ,this time alongside Sue Petchey as her partner, with a nett score of 71.5

In the men's Saturday Stableford, Roger Holmes claimed victory with 41 points, with Russell Bell taking second on countback from Stephen Rose after both had 35 points.

Another of the men's Majors was the Tom King Greensomes and victory this year, in a large entry, went to Gary Ayling and Matthew Butler with 39 points.

Miles and Dennis Crossley were second with 38 points and Joe Cosgrove and Henry Dow were in third place, also with 38 points.
