IT was the team led by Simon Thomas that took first place in the O’Shea/Rowe Challenge Trophy at Gosfield Lake Golf Club.
Thomas was joined by Richard Cornell, Bob Rumney and Dave Wormall on the way to winning the best team prize in this Texas Scramble event with the low score of 57.1 net.
With 64 players in 16 teams of four players competing under the banner of Rowe or O’Shea, the overall result was a win for the Rowe teams with a combined score of 497.4 net narrowly defeating the O’Shea teams by 7.2 strokes.
The second best team was Jake Letham, Mark Loring, Andy Bouttell and Ralph Rowe and the third-placed team was Bob Stewart, Graham Hurrell, Gary Lewis and Ivan Harris.
