Halstead Town manager Mark Benterman believes the club’s supporters are starting to see the best of Julian Simon-Parson.

The former Brightlingsea Regent midfielder has rejoined the Humbugs recently for a second spell at Rosemary Lane after spending most of this season at Essex Senior League side Bowers and Pitsea.

Benterman said Simon-Parson (pictured) had been his man-of-the-match in Halstead’s last two games – the remarkable comeback win against Stowmarket Town on Saturday and their 4-0 local derby victory at Cornard United on Tuesday.

And he felt there was more to come as his team keep pushing for Thurlow Nunn League division one promotion this year.

He said: “Jules has been absolutely fantastic for us in the last few games and it’s great to see a fit Jules with us this time.

“He’s probably been our man-of-the-match in the last two games.

“He wasn’t fully fit last time he was here when he came over from Brightlingsea [two years ago] and we only saw glimpses of what he can do.

“However, now we’re seeing him in full flow.

“I still don’t think he’s fit enough as he didn’t play enough games for Bowers and Pitsea [before he came to Halstead] so I think you will see even better from him over the next few games and into next season.

“You’ll see him shining as he really controls it in there.”
