Braintree Golf Club assistant professional Steve Hambling won the Woodbridge Pro-Am with a gross three-under-par 67 that kept him four strokes clear of the field.

He also led the Braintree squad of Paul Buchan, Sean Kelly and Paul Moreton to victory in the team event with a score of 12 under.

The seniors’ three clubs and a putter stableford was won by Terry Barke with 39 points, two ahead of John Gisby, while Keith Lawless took third spot with 34.

The latest round of the ladies’ Winter League, over nine holes, saw Caroline Fields and Jacqueline Firmin win with 21 points.

A countback on 20 points was needed to decide the other places with Eva Kajsa Bolland and Carolyn Harris second ahead of Carol Davies and Debra Blundell while Shirley Jiggins and Geraldine Stuckey were fourth.
