Manager Mark Benterman hopes he has addressed the one area that Halstead Town have fallen a bit short this season with two new signings.

Following a failed attempt to bring in Jordan Pavett earlier in the month from Witham Town, Benterman is delighted to have finally secured the signing of the former Swindon Town striker and Colchester United trainee, while fellow forward Joe O’Hare has come in on loan from Chelmsford City.

The Humbugs boss said one area his team have been found wanting this season is in the number of goals they have scored and they are the only side in the top seven of the Thurlow Nunn League division one table with a negative goal difference.

So he hopes his new additions will hit the ground running and be firing when they head to Downham Town tomorrow.

Benterman said; “We have had to be patient with getting Jordan but he has come to us now and has signed forms so he’ll spend the rest of the season with us.

“It has given the rest of the players a massive buzz as it’s a real boost to have someone of his calibre on board.

“The one thing we have been lacking this year has been goals and bringing in Jordan and Joe means we can hopefully push on now.

“It’s the only area where we have been lacking but I hope we have addressed that now with these signings.”
