Jamie Chesney has decided to leave Halstead Town.
Manager Mark Benterman said he was disappointed to lose the midfielder, but understood his desire to be playing more first-team games than he was able to get at Halstead at the moment.
Benterman said: “Jamie has decided to step down and that’s unfortunate for us because he’s done a good job for us, but he wanted to be playing week-in week-out and it’s something we couldn’t offer.
“So we’re sorry to see him go, but we are still a small squad and we are hoping to have some more players coming in.
“One of them that we hope is Jordan Pavett but there are one or two things he needs to sort out with Witham Town first and we’ll need a replacement for Jamie Chesney.”
