Tony Bannister continued his rich vein of form by winning the Saturday medal at Braintree Golf Club.
Having collected the Tilson Trophy matchplay competition a few weeks earlier, Bannister returned a nett 69 off a handicap of nine to beat Nigel Harris (12) on countback. Third place went to Lee Beagrie with a nett 70 off four.
The Sunday medal went to Harry Lock with a nett 65, beating fellow 14-handicapper Keith Swaile by a stroke.
In third place, with a nett 67, was Martin Hawes (1).
The club’s seniors completed two of their cup competitions, with Gordon Hewitt (17) winning the Hiskey Cup for players aged over 70 with 37 points.
The Arnold Cup – for those aged under 70 – was won by Andrew Little (13) with 38 points.
