The seniors of the Essex Golf and Country Club hosted the second of their biannual charity days and more than 80 seniors from clubs within a 50-mile radius graced the fairways at the Essex.
The winners on the day from the Essex were David Lord, Adrian Grubb, Ray Mabbutt and Bill Sharpe.
The day was arranged by the seniors’ charity organiser, John White, and raised £1,000.
The Essex also hosted a seniors’ friendly against the Notleys, with the hosts managing a 4-2 win against the visitors.
Nearest the pin on the par three 145-yard 11th was Bill Attwood.
In a parallel stableford, 14 seniors competed for honours.
In third, with 37 points, came ten-handicapper Andy Bedford, while new member, Roger Springett, took second with 39 points off his 13 handicap, but no-one could touch the 41 points that 25-handicapper Peter Pidisnyj had to take victory.
