HALSTEAD Cricket Club captain Josh Wells is confident his side will not be relegated this season.
The team lost by 66 runs against Witham in last weekend’s Marshall Hatchick Two Counties Championship division one contest at Star Stile.
However, Halstead are ninth in the table and 30 points clear of second-from-bottom Maldon.
“Relegation shouldn’t even be a consideration and we’re sure it won’t come to that,” said Wells.
“We should be higher in the league, although we don’t see ourselves as a club challenging to win the division at this time.
“However, we’re certainly not a club who should be around the relegation zone.”
