Halstead Town manager Mark Benterman said he was delighted to have James Murray back at Rosemary Lane.
The midfielder (pictured) departed the Humbugs last season to join Thurlow Nunn League premier division side Haverhill Rovers, but has linked up with his old team again and Benterman is happy to have him back on board.
He said: “Muzza is coming back and that’s great news for the club.
“He is a lively character both on and off the pitch and he wants to be back.
“We have missed him and the link-up play that he offers us behind the striker is fantastic. He will really add to what we have got here.
“I know a lot of clubs wanted him, but he wanted to be a part of what we are trying to do here.
“It’s a great addition and I think the squad we’ve got here now is probably the best I’ve seen in my time at the club.”
