Halsetad Amateur Boxing Club senior James Blore was matched against Kenny Robles from the New York Select Team when he represented Essex on the Billericay and Wickford Boxing Club show.

Both men gave a good account of themselves in what proved to be the best bout of the evening by far.

It was a bruising contest from start to finish, with both showing tremendous talent as the bout ebbed and flowed each way.

Each boxer took it in turns to give a solid display with a high rate of punches to the head and body throughout this fast and hard-hitting battle that had the crowd on their feet throughout.

However, unfortunately for the Halstead boxer, it was Robles who was rewarded with the split points decision.

On the same bill, Halstead’s Peter Richardson had his first skills bout and he looked impressive while contesting a lively three rounds with Kenza Buckley of the Billericay and Wickford ABC.

Both boys were evenly matched, showing a good variation of punches and the contest had both trying to take control of a very skilful and lively bout.

Buckley tried to unload his heavier punching with Richardson content to box in a more relaxed manner as he put on a commanding display of eye-catching shots.
