Halstead Road Runners’ Karl Hillman put an injury-plagued year behind him with his comeback at the Flitch Way ten-kilometre race.

Hillman, who has been out injured with a serious foot problem for the past four months, showed no signs of the injury which hampered his 2014 season. He ran a strong race to finish in 56 minutes 38 seconds.

Aaron Heard put his hard marathon training to good measure to set a 10km personal best (PB) and was the first home for the club with a time of 50m 57s in doing so.

Chairman Del Harrington and race regular Jim Leaney rounded off results to claim their finishers’ medals.

RESULTS: 42nd Aaron Heard 50m 57s (PB), 55th Del Harrington 52m 58s, 82nd Karl Hillman 56m 38s, 106th Jim Leaney 59m 15s.

Julia Woolnough was the club’s sole Park Run representative and chose the Colchester Castle Park 5km event. It is notoriously challenging due to the hills, however, that didn’t stop Woolnough from running a PB of 27m 45s.
