Just five seconds separated Halstead Road Runners’ Danny Hewitt from a new personal best as he took on the Colchester Castle Park 5k Park Run.
Perfect weather conditions suited the much-improved Hewitt and he had a very good run to finish 40th, but he was five seconds outside his goal and finished in 21 minutes 35 seconds.
Meanwhile, Dan Hollinshead took on a rather muddy Great Notley 5k Park Run and ran an almost identical time to Hewitt as he finished in 21m 25s.
