Leisha Hunt came away from the Essex AA Indoor Championships at Lee Valley with two medals.
The 12-year-old from Gosfield (pictured), who is a member of Braintree and District Athletic Club, opened with a county bronze in the under-13 girls’ long jump as she cleared 3.94 metres.
Hunt, who is a pupil at Hedingham School, then backed that up with further medal delight in the 200 metres.
Coming into the championships, the personal best (PB) had been 29.7 seconds, but she set a new PB of 29s to qualify for the final and then bettered that with a time of 28.8s to claim the second step of the podium.
