Halstead Road Runners’ Ultra-Marathon runner Kate Allen competed in Peddars Way Ultra in Norfolk and only just missed out on a podium finish in her first long-distance event of the year.
Starting on the Suffolk border and finishing on the North Norfolk coast, the ultra tough 48-mile race was made even more difficult by snow, sleet and freezing temperatures.
However, Allen put in a remarkable performance, just missing out on a podium position as she finished fourth lady and 23rd overall in a time of eight hours 56 minutes.
