The combination of manager Mark Benterman and assistant boss Jim Holder will be at the Halstead Town helm for another year after they agreed to stay on to take charge for next season.

While the current Thurlow Nunn League division one campaign hasn’t been as successful so far as the management or players at Rosemary Lane would have liked, Benterman and Holder are keen to have another year in charge.

This season’s push for promotion has been blighted by a crippling list of injuries and Halstead, who were denied action last weekend by a waterlogged pitch, lie ninth heading into today’s division one game at Needham Market Reserves.

Benterman said: “Both Jim and I have committed to giving it another crack and as far as I can see at the moment my future lies at Halstead Town.

“This year has not worked out how we wanted it to with all the injuries that we’ve had, but you have to work with the cards you’re dealt.

“There is still a job to be done at the club.

“I’m very loyal and Jim has been like a father-figure to me.

“We both felt we owed it to the club to give it another go."
