Gosfield Lake Golf Club captain Geoff Powdrill and his daughter Sarah proved a winning combination at the annual Foxes and Rabbits Pairs Medal competition.

As always, this was a very popular New Year holiday event, played on the Meadows Course at Gosfield and open to members and their guests.

The Fox in the team has to play the hole tee to green and the Rabbit has to putt out to complete the hole.

The end result was close, but the winning team by one stroke were Geoff and Sarah, with Andy Matthews and Nick Thorogood taking second on countback from third-placed Ralph and Maggy Rowe.

The lowest number of putts was won by Linda Eley, Ethan Richards and George Hewings.

The presentation to the captain and his daughter was made by event organisers Carole and James Robinson.

After the presentation everyone enjoyed lunch together and this was followed by a Men v Ladies quiz, which ended with honours even.
