Halstead brothers William and Alexander Bettley made a big impact at the Essex Junior Table Tennis Ranking Trials in Harlow.
William, who is aged 11, and Alexander, eight, used their attacking top-spin styles to good effect as they won numerous matches in the under-13 boys event, resulting in rankings of fourth and ninth respectively.
But it was in their main event, the under-11 boys, where the Homewood House School pupils really shone.
William remained unbeaten throughout and Alexander lost only to his older brother and one other match, resulting in William topping the under-11 rankings and Alexander following closely behind in third position.
