The Essex Golf and Country Club are the new holders of the Norman Plum Trophy after their final win against Stockbrook Manor.
A team of 12 Essex golfers went to Colne Valley for the final of this county competition and at the end of the game, the score was locked at 3-3.
However, the rule book was consulted to establish a winner.
It said the result of the first game decided the result and given that the Essex won that match, they were awarded the trophy and winners’ medals.
See this week's paper for a full golfing round-up.
