Halstead Town manager Mark Benterman hailed a "fantastic team performance" after his side began their five-game run on the road with a 1-0 victory at Swaffham Town.
Dan Grindrod's goal won it for Halstead to give their Thurlow Nunn League division one promotion push a huge lift.
The win against fourth-placed Swaffham kept Halstead in the top three promotion places in division one, but has also allowed them to open up a points gap on the sides below them in the table.
It was the first of five straight games away from Rosemary Lane that will close their season and Benterman was delighted to make a good start to a difficult run.
He said: "We had five members of the squad carrying injuries so it was a fantastic team performance today."
Next up for Benterman's team will be a trip to Great Yarmouth on Saturday.
