Halstead Templars Rugby Club reclaimed the top spot of Suffolk Merit Table division two despite their game against Haverhill being called off.
The Suffolk side were unable to field a second team after their first team was decimated by injuries and the Templars were handed a 20-0 walk over.
With Thurston not playing, the men in black went back to the top of the table with two games of the season to go.
Colchester Caveliers are hard on their heels in second place and today sees Halstead prepare for the title run-in with a home friendly against Harwich and Dovercourt’s second team (kick-off 3pm).
