Halstead Town moved to within two points of the summit of the Thurlow Nunn League division one table with a 2-0 victory at Rosemary Lane against AFC Sudbury Reserves.
Having seen Jordan Palmer turn down an approach by division one rivals Saffron Walden Town last week, the Halstead striker showed his value to the club by scoring both of their goals.
He found the target in either half to secure a vital three points for Mark Benterman's team as they climbed back into the top three.
Halstead's next game will be a home fixture against Swaffham Town next weekend.
