Halstead Town suffered back-to-back Thurlow Nunn League division one defeats for the first time this season as they lost 4-2 to Saffron Walden Town at Rosemary Lane on Boxing Day.
The Halstead groundstaff had done a great job to get the game on, but their team's loss came hot on the heels of a 3-1 defeat at Haverhill Borough last week.
Mark Benterman's team had led 1-0 and 2-1 in the early part of the post-Christmas game, but Walden came back to level at half-time and earned the three points with two goals after the break.
Halstead's next outing will come with another local derby when they travel to Braintree Town Reserves on January 4.
