EARLS Colne suffered a 6-2 defeat against Coggeshall, in the Kent Blaxill Essex and Suffolk Border League premier division on Saturday.
However, the score did not reflect their hard-working performance, especially in light of players yet again dropping out on the morning of the game.
Colne came from behind twice, equalising through Tom Maddocks and Carl Marangou.
However, in the second period, an own goal pushed the visitors ahead and they added three more with quality strikes, to take them up into joint second in the table.
Colne’s reserves were edged out 3-2 at Coggeshall.
Josh Preston and Shane Vince were on target.
Tomorrow, the first team entertain Barnston and the reserves travel in the opposite direction.
