Palmer has been real revelation for Town

HALSTEAD Town boss Mark Benterman says goal king Jordan Palmer has been a “revelation”.

The striker took his tally to seven in six games, by netting twice in Saturday’s 2-2 draw at Long Melford.

Town were two-up and ended up disappointed, after the hosts fought back to claim a share of the spoils.

However, they are still unbeaten, with two wins and a draw from their three matches during Benterman’s regime.

And in terms of individual contributions, the new Halstead chief has sung the praises of the prolific Palmer.

“Jordan isn’t a natural striker, but he’s doing an excellent job and scoring lots of goals,” said Benterman.

“He makes intelligent runs and finishes well, so deserves a lot of credit.

“He’s been a revelation and I’ve also been pleased with another of our attacking players, Ash Drew.

“He’s stepped up from the reserves but looked very much at home."
