Palmer scores twice but Melford fight back to deny Town

HALSTEAD Town are still unbeaten under new boss Mark Benterman.

The Rosemary Lane side followed up their Thurlow Nunn League division one victories against Debenham LC and Stowmarket by drawing 2-2 at Long Melford.

However, the afternoon was tinged with regret as Town had been 2-0 up, thanks to a brace from Jordan Palmer.

Melford roared back, though, to claim a share of the spoils at Stoneylands.

“We were very disappointed but a point is a point and we've still taken seven out of nine,” said Benterman, who recently stepped up from assistant boss to take the reins from Jim Holder.

“I'd have taken that if someone had offered it to me.”
