Academy is boosted by Premier League star

HALSTEAD Town’s Academy is receiving a helping hand from a Premier League footballer.
Reading’s Nicky Shorey is throwing his weight behind the venture as part of a new initiative between the Premier League and Nike.
The giants have joined forces to give players the chance to back football development organisations such as the Academy at Rosemary Lane.
And former England international Shorey wants to help Halstead, due to his friendship with Academy coach Jody Brown.
The club will now receive a donation of some football kit.
