Coote on target in defeat

EARLS Colne lost 4-1 at Haverhill Sports Association, in the Kent Blaxill Essex and Suffolk Border League premier division on Saturday.

Steve Coote scored from the spot for the visitors, to continue his purple patch.

Colne are entrenched in mid-table in the premier division, with 30 points from their 22 games.

Back at the Rec, Colne’s reserves beat Dedham 1-0, thanks to a goal from Shane Vince.

The club’s first team have no game tomorrow, although theirnext two matches are at home, against Harwich and Parkeston and Little Oakley.

The reserves entertain neighbours Gosfield tomorrow.
