Templars aim to rediscover their winning habit

HALSTEAD Templars are gunning for their first win of 2013 in tomorrow’s rearranged match at Ilford Wanderers.

The Shepherd Neame Merit Table division seven side have lost their opening two matches this year.

They went down 27-7 against leaders Braintree and then suffered a 27-6 reverse in their last game against rivals Westcliff, on January 12.

However, Templars are still well-placed in second spot and have not given up hope of promotion this season.

“We’ve got five games left after this weekend and, if we finish strongly, we can still make the play-offs,” said player-coach Barry Poulter.
