Town preparing for a pivotal few days

HALSTEAD Town are preparing for a make-or-break week that could go a long way to shaping their season.

That’s the view of assistant manager Mark Benterman, who is helping prepare his team for three tough away games in eight days.

Town have Thurlow Nunn League division one dates at Downham tomorrow and Team Bury on Tuesday, before visiting Newmarket for a First Division Knockout Cup quarter-final next Saturday.

Benterman says there is a fine line between success and failure – and feels the next three results will have a major bearing on his side’s campaign.

“The next week or so will define our season,” he said.

“After these games, we might be back in the top five, after winning two league games, and through to a semi-final.

“Alternatively, and hopefully not, we may find ourselves entrenched in mid-table and knocked out of the cup.

“That’s how big a week it’s going to be and, by the end of it, we’ll have a much clearer idea of where we’re going to finish."
