Hannah will also be flying the flag for Essex

HANNAH Smith will be joining two of her young Braintree and District Athletic Club colleagues as they fly the flag for Essex at the regional Sportshall championship finals in January.

The Gazette reported last week that Tom Keen, of Holy Trinity Primary School, in Halstead, and Freddie Trevanion, of Pebmarsh School, had been selected for the finals in Norfolk.

And they will be accompanied by Smith, as they represent their county.

The 11-year-old, from Pebmarsh, who is a pupil at St John the Baptist Primary School in the village, has been a Braintree and District Athletic Club member for two years and qualified after four events held throughout Essex.

They are three of only 15 selected from across the county in their age group.
