HALSTEAD Amateur Boxing Club’s hectic schedule continued with top junior Orin Mann getting the better of Ryan Woollard, from Haddenhan Boxing Club, at the Connaught Hall, in Attleborough.

The first round began with both boxers trading shots.

However, it was Mann’s crisper left leads and right hands that were starting to dominate.

He picked up the pace, hitting and moving well with eye-catching counters as he marched forward to end round one.

Mann began the second strongly, catching Woollard early.

The Haddenham boxer was in trouble but dug deep and kept himself in the round, by using his height and reach to good effect to end round two.

Mann took the initiative in the final round as he forced Woollard back with a number of long-range shots to head and body, putting his punchs together nicely to pick up the points.

He was hitting and moving well towards the end of the round to earn himself a unanimous points decision.

Orin gave a good account of himself and a solid display in all departments throughout the bout.

Coaches Richard Groves and Paul Turner were very pleased with his performance.
