HADLEIGH & Thundersley captain Adam Soilleux is hoping to repeat last season’s dominance over Harlow come tomorrow.

Hadleigh did the double over their opponents and, following a hard-fought draw against Woodford Wells last weekend, Soilleux is determined to return to winning ways.

The home side sit fifth in a fiercely competitive Division One, with a win potentially enough to lift them to within a matter of points to the top two.

“We managed to beat Harlow twice last season but that won't count for much come tomorrow,” he said. “They've got some good players and we'll need another good performance if we're to beat them

“It was a pleasing performance last Saturday, albeit a shame that we only drew and couldn't get the win. Runs were hard to come by at first and we were restricted to 50-3 after 18 overs.

“Bu we had a platform to accelerate in the final 10 overs and scored 252 in our 50 overs.

“I made 102 not out supported by Owen 53, P Tibbs 33 and Jack Wagstaff 26. By the time we bowled the pitch was perfect for batting, however I thought we bowled pretty well.

“We kept taking wickets at the right times and they ended up comfortably short on 208-7. The only slight disappointment is that we dropped a couple of simple catches, however on such a good pitch it would always have been difficult to bowl them out, and they didn't want to give us a sniff at 25 points, which is understandable.”

Southend-on-Sea & EMT host Woodford Wells tomorrow looking to continue where they left off after a 20-point win against Loughton last time out.

Southend sit fourth in the standings and have not lost a game all season after a strong start to the new campaign, although Woodford will be keen to end their winless start to the new season tomorrow.

Billericay have had a storming start to the new season and sit joint top with Orsett & Thurrock, the side they face tomorrow.

Billericay have won three of their four games since winning promotion last season and will fancy their chances against the hosts, who were held to a draw the last time out.
