Braintree Town manager Alan Devonshire has bolstered his midfield options with the signing of Callum McNish.
The 20-year-old has become the Iron's second signing of the summer after he was released from Exeter City.
He follows Daniel Sparkes into the club after he joined from Histon last week.
McNish headed to Exeter in July 2011 after starting at Watford as a youngster and then graduating through the Southampton Academy.
He can play across the midfield and made seven appearances for the Grecians in League One last year.
McNish was one of a number of new faces at the start of pre-season training last weekend.
Devonshire said: "I've been impressed with Callum.
"He's got two excellent feet and can add to our options in midfield.
"Only 20, he's still got that desire to get back into the League and I'm sure he's going to have an excellent year with us."
