SILVER End racing driver Toby Bearne is having to put his Ginetta Supercup Championship dreams on hold for this year after difficulties in securing funding for the 2018 season.

Bearne had hoped to build on an encouraging finish to the last season, when he impressed in the closing rounds of the Ginetta Supercup, but has been forced to withdraw from a possible title bid this year.

With no title sponsor in place, Bearne has instead decided to take a year off from racing and hopes to resume his motorsports career in 2019.

While he waits to return to full-time racing for the 2019 season, or possibly in the latter part of the 2018 campaign, Bearne said he would be channelling his efforts into a new business venture.

He will be opening T D Wheels - Custom Wheel Refurbishments in Braintree next week and added that he would offer a ten per cent discount to Braintree and Witham Times readers for work booked before March 31.

More information is available by calling or texting him on on 07868 203389 to discuss requirements and costings or by emailing tobytdwheels@gmail.com and quoting the discount code BAWTO3.
