A STRONG performance from Becky Clark and Jessica Baxter saw Braintree Tennis Club's 18 and under girls beat older opposition at home from Stebbing.

The Braintree duo played some great tennis, with long rallies, tie breaks, aces and good teamwork bringing a 5-1 victory that included an impressive doubles match that was won 4-1, 4-0.

Braintree's boys 14 and under A team of Joshua Hamilton, Harry Briffa, Jules Hardy and Giosue Calleja travelled to Hamptons Sports and Leisure in Chelmsford.

Every singles and doubles match was close, but at the closing stages of most sets, it was Hamptons who took the lead as the hosts won the match 5-1 overall 5-1.

There was also action for Braintree's boys 14 and under B team as Joshua Packer, Jack Davidsen, Jacob Chillingworth and Jules Hardy faced a competitive match against Castle Hedingham in cold conditions.

Long rallies and some close sets saw a few matches go all the way to three sets, but this time all went the way of Braintree, who won 5-1.
