FOUR wins in a row at the end of their game against Wethersfield Club not only gave Braintree Football Club the overall match win, but also placed them level top in the Braintree Open Darts League division one singles standings.

Before their singles success, the Football Club had earlier drawn the ladies match and won the triples, but Wethersfield Club took pairs honours 2-1.

Elsewhere in division one, Swiss Bell's Ann Farmer and Deb Webb won their ladies' match against Cressing A, who responded with a 2-1 pairs win before a draw in the triples.

Wins for Dan Deering, Paul Cain, Martin Compton, Tony Bamsey and Bryan Willis gave Cressing the singles win, though, to keep them level at the top of that competition.

The Eagle B travelled to the Retreat and came up against a team firing on all cylinders.

Bet Corder's win in the ladies got the visitors off to a good start but the Retreat claimed the pairs 3-0, the triples and all seven singles, only dropping one leg on their way to the singles and match victory.

In division two, wins for Madeline Gava and Natasha Burgess in the ladies competition got the Angel off to a good start at Horse and Groom, who replied with a 3-0 win in the pairs and followed that up with a draw in the triples.

Nat Hammond, Mark Worster and Mark Cook gave Horse and Groom the advantage in the singles, but wins for Andre Thomas, Lloyd March, Craig Farrell and Gava secured those points, while the match ended in a draw.

Wethersfield Raiders and Bocking played out a draw in the ladies competition but with a 2-1 win in the pairs and a draw in the triples gave the Raiders the advantage going into the singles.

Raiders' James Copton, Andi Thomas and Rob Camp won their singles games to ensure the overall match was drawn, but victories for Phil Watkins, Dave Joyce, Peter Hayden and Graham Hardy earned Bocking the singles win.

Martin Compton, Bryan Willis and Lloyd March hit 180s and high out shots were recorded by Lloyd March (121), Dave Saunders (110) and Martin Compton (107).
