MANAGER Adam Flint says he will be looking for a reaction from his Witham Town players tonight after being "embarrassed" by an under-par display against Grays Athletic last weekend.

Flint was disappointed to see his team's five-game unbeaten run come to a dismal end as they were beaten 4-1 in their Bostik League division north Essex derby and the Town boss is hoping that it was just an "off day" for his players.

So he wants to see them bounce back when they host Soham Town Rangers at the Village Glass Stadium tonight.

He said: "Too many of our players had off days against Grays - it was men against boys.

"Had we scored early in the game, it might have been different but I was just embarrassed by that performance.

"We just weren't at it.

"We were in the first 20 minutes but after that, we just played within ourselves.

"It was like a team of individuals who hadn't played together before.

"Hopefully it was just one of those games.

"Grays stood up to us for 20 minutes - they tried to slow everything down because we were going at it 100 miles an hour.

"Once they got through that, though, they won it in midfield and the game was changed by the first goal.

"Mistakes really hurt us - it was just silly.

"It's a game we just have to forget and hope that it's an off day.

"We have to put it right now against Soham.

"I'm sure we will bounce back and we'll see a reaction.

"We do need to see one."
