John McGreal insists he will not accept any “hard luck stories” at Cheltenham Town tomorrow – and has backed his side to end their travel sickness.
The U’s head to Whaddon Road aiming to record their first win on the road this season, following three straight away defeats in League Two.
McGreal has revealed that travel arrangements is one area they have examined in their attempts to find a way of solving their away-day blues.
But the U’s head coach is confident that his side put a stop to their losing run away from home this weekend – providing they make the most of the moments that matter.
McGreal said: “We’ve tried to mix things up a little bit.
“We’ve looked at different stats and different things like travelling arrangements to try and prepare.
“We know that we need to improve our away form.
“A couple of the away performances have been OK and we’ve been unlucky not to come away with anything.
“But we don’t want any hard luck stories – we just need to put in a good performance to try and get a win.
“We’ve started all three of our away games really well and it’s the key moments.
“When we’re at home, we tend to take them which we haven’t done away so hopefully we can put that right tomorrow.
“It’s a new team this season but we’re still creating chances and that’s all you can ask and hopefully that’ll be the case.”
